By having an in-person English Conversation Partner (ECP), you can have a deeper cultural experience with a native English speaker while you are in the United States. You will be matched with an individual in the Columbus area with whom you can talk, ask questions, and if able to meet in-person walk in the park, enjoy an occasional meal, celebrate holidays, and participate in community events.
In-Person English Conversation Partners meet regularly to maintain a close friendship and connection. This is a perfect way to see more of Columbus with a native and make a friend!

By having an Buddy Partner (BP), you can have a deeper cultural experience while you are in the United States.
You will be matched with an individual or family in the Columbus area with whom you can develop a genuine friendship! This is an opportunity for you to experience American life in a non-university setting and to learn firsthand about culture in the United States.
With your in-person Buddy Partner, you can:
- Visit to enjoy an occasional meal and relax in conversation
- Ask questions about American culture and living Columbus.
- Celebrate holidays
- Participate in community events, or just relax in conversation.
Note: This program is available to university students in the Columbus, Ohio area only. It is a 6 week commitment.
